I’m not usually a sucker for trends. Maybe it’s the millennial in me, maybe it’s being a mom, but at this point in my life, I’m much more inclined to just weat whatever the hell I want versus hopping onto whatever bandwagon is pulling into Style Station. That being said, I still lovelovelove seeing what’s trending and pulling inspiration from Pinterest to put together new looks that still feel like me and fit my everyday life while being “cool” – ha!
Now, quite a few trends as of late have absolutely NOT been my cup of tea…and there’s an unpopular opinion for that. 😉 Barrel jeans and boxer shorts will never be my cup of tea. But when I first saw the long sleeve lace top trend, I was sold.
A long sleeve lace top adds an instant feminine flair to an otherwise “basic” outfit, which I just lovelovelove. It’s an easy, effortless way to instantly uplevel a look, adding texture and interest. (This is the one I have – an Amazon find currently on sale! Woo!)
A long sleeve lace top is also a way to add a very *lightweight* layer if your weather is still a bit wonky and all over the place (some days it’s 60, some it’s 80…where is the line?!). I’ve just been having so much fun styling it this spring, I figured it deserved its own spotlight. 🙂 (Beyond being featured in Cool Sh*t I Lovelovelove already – and it’s still a favorite!)

I know sometimes one of the biggest Q’s when considering a new trend is how to make it work realistically in your own closet. I feel ya! The biggest point of this post is rounding up all of the ways I’ve personally been wearing my long sleeve lace top, so that you can see how it may make sense for you. I’ve been so pleasantly surprised at its unexpected versatility – under a graphic tee or jumpsuit made the most sense to me at first, but I think it looks SO DARLING under a classic denim vest, or even over a tank styled more “professionally” for the office! My biggest fear in trying the long sleeve lace top trend was that it would be itchy, tight, or otherwise uncomfortable. I’m happiest to report that it’s none of the above! In fact, it’s actually got stretch to it! I will say, it’s on the delicate side…you’ll want to wash in a lingerie bag on the washing machine’s delicate cycle to keep it nice for you. 🙂
But surprisingly comfortable…and also kinda Bridgerton-chic if you’re also *eagerly awaiting* this season’s most salacious gossip on the ton…
