As Cady Heron would say, “Jambo!”

If you don’t know who Cady Heron is, go to the closest RedBox immediately and rent Mean Girls. I mean, it’s a classic.
But, JAMBO!

So, why am I starting a blog?

Well. I guess there are a plethora of reasons, just like anyone would have in taking time to document innermost thoughts, ideas, and musings about the anything-and-everything. Like, “Today I made French toast,” or “I saw a cloud that looked like a pumpkin, so I made pumpkin pie” (just kidding…but I’m hungry while typing this). #sorrynotsorry in advance of any forthcoming, rant-like foodie posts…I’ll keep those to a minimum. But, in actuality, I like those blog posts that make you think. On thoughts that stretch (sometimes) beyond the fridge and hit the human soul at its most vulnerable – wants, desires, likes and dislikes on a universal level – and views on the type of stuff that usually only come out during games of “If you really knew me.”

And I just find pleasure in talking to people and sharing perspectives on life, love, and the ever-dynamic world around us.

I’ve been through a little bit of everything in life thus far (Haven’t we all?). The good times and the bad times, the heartache from breakups and the exhilaration from love (even the unexplainable satisfaction and unending butterflies from finding “the one”). The days when you want to crawl under a rock and never come out. The days when you want to stand on top of a skyscraper and scream pure bliss to anyone within a three mile radius. We’ve all had those days, and I’ve always sort of loved entertaining the idea of sharing mine with the world (wideweb).

So, I’ve come to start a blog.

Because I like to think I have gained some wisdom in my 19 years – some from personal experience, and some passed down from those who mean the most to me and who’ve had the greatest influence on my character.

Because I’ve always loved making lists – lists of what I want to do with my life, what I got for Christmas, what I love about Spring, what I want to do in a week. (Some days are list days, ya know?)

Because I love to write. I love little moments. And I love writing about little moments, and how the littlest moments become the biggest memories.

And because I love reading what other people write – seeing their moments, how their lives are affected and how they constantly change the lives of others through their words on a virtual space.
Because it’s a bit romantic, knowing that maybe, one day, someone might read something I write and feel inspired. Feel happier or more contemplative. Feel ready to go out and do something amazing, or to go shopping or food-tasting or to a friend’s house to share some new music and laughs.

I hope you feel empowered. To go out and do something you never dreamed you could. Tackle a new project. Start a movement to support something that fires your heart and feeds your soul. Talk to a long-lost friend or make a new one.

Whatever it is, I hope you leave my space feeling confident in yourself and in this moment. Because this moment is all we have. Make it count. Or just make it to the nearest ice cream shop, because everything is better with ice cream.
