POP QUIZ: Do you wear SPF every day? I hope that 100% of you said HECK YES – and if not, repent and begin anew today by adding any of my favorite face sunscreens below to your daily regimen. 😉 I don’t care if it’s the middle of January or cloudy and 50 degrees outside…you still need to wear SPF to protect yo’self from the increasingly harmful UV rays from the sun! Word on the sunscreen street is that 90% of signs of aging come from sun exposure. So if you don’t fear sunshine, at least fear wrinkles. 😉 So while it’s an everyday necessity, no one can deny the importance of good sunscreen in the summertime – and here we are. Here are a few of my favorites – some of the best face sunscreens I’ve tried, loveloveloved, and continue to use as of late!
They’re all non-greasy, non-pore-clogging, pretty darn “clean,” and at LEAST SPF 30.
This is the most unique texture/finish of the bunch. Supergoop’s Unseen sunscreen is a bit more jelly-like to touch and leaves a velvety finish – it’s totally weightless, scentless, and invisible with SPF 40. It’s also got antioxidants for great skincare. What I lovelovelove about Unseen is that it’s *specifically* formulated to be great under makeup in that it’s like a makeup-gripping primer that can go underneath your foundation for the day, giving you that very necessary protection without making you greasy or oily.
Fun fact: Supergoop was actually apparently the first to create an SPF without oxybenzone! So they’re reef-sale, cruelty-free, and in the most environmentally-friendly packaging possible. Bless up.
It’s normally $34 for 1.7 ounces or $20 for 0.68. (Which, I have found, is pretty standard pricing per ounce in this specific face sunscreen market as I was researching + writing this post – ha!)
A fun new launch from Team Colleen this season – I just about squealed when her sunscreen showed up on my doorstep! Her Triple Defense protects against UVA/UVB rays, but also pollution and blue light, again with antioxidants to help fight signs of aging and other damages. It’s also reef-safe (meaning it’s 100% mineral) and won’t clog your pores.
Triple Defense is also SPF 40 and is formulated to help control oil, improve your skin’s radiance, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles (whoa).

A face sunscreen was among Tula’s TOP requests from customers – ask and ye shall receive! This one is a bit different from the first two in that it’s SPF 30 instead of 40, but it does also protect against pollution and blue light. Also non-clogging to your pores.
A unique element to any Tula product is their inclusion of probiotic extracts, so that’s no different in their face sunscreen, and they additionally have pineapple + papaya in this formulation.
Non-greasy, reef safe, no white cast…this one does smell slightly tropical, and it does give you a bit of a glow upon application (which personally, I like for days when I’m going makeup free or with just SPF + Face Filter for a beautiful glowy finish!).

You’ve see me share this product for YEARS – literally. (Blogged it during the pandemic here and here when pregnant with Liv – omg). It’s my favorite drugstore option and one of my favorite drugstore skincare products pointblankperiod. The formula is super lightweight, not greasy, and still hydrating. It’s fast-absorbing, oil-free, and breathable, and works well as a primer underneath makeup.

Whips is probably the one that I reach for the MOST on busy mornings since it’s a dual SPF-moisturizer, and I like having both in one step like that!
