Beauty Empties, Vol. 6

Let’s go through my trash! (*cue the theme song*) Another round of Beauty Empties is here – with makeup, skincare, hair care, + body products that have been all used up. And, of course, my thoughts – would I repurchase? Do I recommend? Or was it something that didn’t even GET all used up because it was just that bad?? Let’s gooo. (See past beauty empties here!)

BEAUTY EMPTIES, Vol. 6 - Products I've Totally Used up on Coming Up Roses

DOVE WHIPPED BODY CREAM IN LAVENDER & COCONUT MILK

This body cream isn’t as thick as I normally prefer, but still absorbed really well and smells fabulous – I liked applying after a bedtime shower.

DOVE SULFATE-FREE COLOR PROTECT SHAMPOO

I was a bit shooketh that Dove launched a sulfate-free shampoo. Bless up. Since I only use sulfate-free products on my hair (it’s gentler + protective on color-treated hair since sulfates are much harsher cleansers…and ultimately unnecessary to still get a good clean), I typically have to go above the drugstore to find something. But I’m so pleased that quite a few drugstore name brands are now introducing sulfate-free gems into their lineups! This is Dove’s first and has Keratin Repair Actives inside to help nourish hair while protecting color and repairing damage. It also smells BOMB. I’d repurchase!

L’OREAL MICELLAR CLEANSING WATER

I use a micellar water OFTEN to help get a better, deeper clean on my skin – oftentimes daily. If I showered the night before, I’ll use a cotton pad to wipe over my face once before beginning my makeup for the day. If I had a no-makeup day and am showering in the morning, I’ll swipe it all over before starting my nighttime skincare routine. They work as complete cleansers to remove makeup, dirt, oil etc – this one is specifically formulated for normal to oily skin and is *also* suitable for sensitive skin with no oil, soal, or alcohol inside!

AVEDA DAMAGE REMEDY DAILY HAIR REPAIR

Especially after our summer beach trip and the added stressors of sun, salt, sweat, sand, etc, I go into damage control mode around June and keep it up all summer long in the hopes of providing some saving grace for my hair. Finally empties this stuff! I went through this leave-in treatment from Aveda, which also works as heat protectant. There are a few tubes of this in my stash, so I think it’s pretty dang good!

LIVING PROOF PERFECT HAIR DAY DRY SHAMPOO

Naturally. Is it even a Beauty Empties if there isn’t a Living Proof dry shampoo included?? You know I go through this stuff like oxygen. 😉 Hands down, my favorite dry shampoo on the market. And Lord knows I’ve tried ’em all…

COVERGIRL LOOK LOCK UP ALL DAY SETTING MIST

Normally I’m an Urban Decay All Nighter girl through and through, so any other setting mist – especially from the drugstore – comes in with low expectations for me. But this Covergirl one wasn’t bad! It’s a really fine mist, which I like (doesn’t feel super wet upon application!). It’s also good for sensitive skin + dermatologically tested.

ESSENCE LASH PRINCESS FALSE LASH EFFECT MASCARA

Hands down, my favorite mascara!!! And for under $5, it’s a STEAL. It’s lengthening + volumizing and so, so good. No clumps, no flakes, just rockstar lashes…a dupe to the expensive Better Than Sex mascara, in my opinion!

ESSENCE EXTREME WATERPROOF VOLUME MASCARA

This Essence mascara doesn’t even come CLOSE in quality to Lash Effect above, but really is there ANY waterproof mascara that isn’t garbage compared to its regular counterpart?? Ha! Not horrible in the waterproof category. 😉

ALMAY CLEAR COMPLEXION CONCEALER IN LIGHT

My holy grail concealer for covering blemishes! I always say, why would you want to just CONCEAL acne if you could HEAL it? Anytime I have a breakout, this is what I put on it because it’s got salicylic acid to actually help dry up zits while covering them. ALWAYS a repurchase!

IT COSMETICS BYE BYE REDNESS SKIN RELIEF TREATMENT/MOISTURIZER

This stuff was on my sink in the hopes of helping with some redness around the fronts of my cheeks. It’s formulated to be super sensitive, deeply hydrating, and skin-calming with colloidal oatmeal, aloe, cucumber, turmeric, collagen, and peptides. Was definitely a nice gentle option that I’d try again.

CLARINS INSTANT LIGHT NATURAL LIP PERFECTOR

I feel like this was just a fancy name for a lipgloss? Lovely, but I wouldn’t pay $26 again for it.

HUMAN+KIND BODY WASH IN GRAPEFRUIT

This went by super quickly. While it smells good and I lovelovelove the clean ingredients, it was a bit pricier and you can find sulfate-free body washes at Target for less.

OLAY TONE PERFECTION SERUM WITH B3 + VITAMIN C

This was a great multi-purposed drugstore serum. It’s got Vitamin B3 in it for hydrating, and Vitamin C inside for brightening. Apparently, one single drop has the power to visibly renew one MILLION skin cells – I mean, whoa. They say give it two weeks until you’ve got a more even skin tone. I think it definitely works! It’s fragrance-free, quick absorbing, and not greasy.

DO YOU HAVE ANY BEAUTY EMPTIES LATELY THAT YOU’LL BE RE-PURCHASING?
